[ Edited ]

Hi Guy,

Today I try to upgrade my ex4600 in the lab with NSSU procedure by this command

 request system software nonstop-upgrade

2 EX4600 forming virtual chassis with preprovisioned and Junos version 18.4R2-S3 and connect via 1 DAC QSFP

no split-detection was configured

I try to upgrade to 19.1R3.9 and got this error message

Hi sattachit1,

There could be multiple reasons, that cause similar issue. For such case /var/log, RSI, and other data needs to be checked for clues.

I suggest to open a case for JTAC to do deep investigation on this problem.

Best Regards,

Mohamed

Hello,

By looking at the upgrade logs, it seems like Backup RE didn't come up. This indicates either an issue with the NSSU procedure such as incompatibility, limitations, software issue etc. or the issue resides with the Backup RE itself.

If its a critical upgrade I would suggest you to carry out the other upgrade procedures if not, the logs have to be checked in order to determine the actual cause.

Hey sattachit1,

Greetings, unfortunately, Juniper does not support the NSSU process with service releases.

Let me explain: There are the main releases and service releases. Main releases are like 19.1R3.9 and service releases are like 18.4R2-S3, which has " S+<number>" in the version. and here your current version is a service release

If this solves your problem, please mark this post as "Accepted Solution" so we can help others too \:)/
