Best practices or tips needed

‎02-09-2016 12:52 PM

Hi all,

Does anyone have any best practices or tips/tricks on how to configure the kernel, nic, etc. on a typical compute node running vrouter?

Thanks,

Cordelia

Hi Cordelia,

Probably should be moved to Contrail forum?

I have one tip - mostly for lab use, when Compute node is itself a virtual machine, and other VMs are launched inside it (nested virtualization). In this case, to make it work, you will often have to edit the file

/etc/nova/nova-compute.conf and replace the virt_type=kvm line with virt_type=qemu

The file should finally look like

[DEFAULT]
compute_driver=libvirt.LibvirtDriver
[libvirt]
virt_type=qemu

Best Regards,

Thanks Peter! I'll move it over there and see what other tips I get. I appreciate the first one!
